Teton River seems to have fish biting when no other waterway in the area has them. It's one of the most trusted spots for fishing in the area, and expert anglers often recall dreamily how the fish always seem to be jumping for flies, making them easy prey in the mornings and evenings. One stretch of the river, called Bitch Creek, is home to fish no shorter than 14 inches and sometimes as long as 18 inches and up.

Yellowstone National Park is worth a whole fishing trip all to itself. The three big lakes in the park, Yellowstone Lake, Shoshone Lake and Lewis Lake, can match Teton River with trout the length of a man's arm. With 175 other lakes - such as the aptly-named Trout Lake, Wolf Lake, Blacktail Lake, and Heart Lake - Yellowstone could never, ever be boring for anglers.

Snake River. This winding fly fisherman's paradise offers the seclusion, and more importantly, the bites, to make any angler feel like they're living in the movie A River Runs Through It. One of the most famous Teton Valley fishing locations, and one of the best in the whole state, is here. Called Henry's Fork, this section of the river is a mecca for trout hunters. The South Fork section of the Snake River also backs up its reputation as one of the most jumping, and beautiful, fishing holes in the West.

Family Fishing Waters are designated fishing holes located through Teton Valley and Idaho. They are perfect to take out your favorite junior angler. Developed by the Idaho Fish and Game department, they offer year-round seasons and no limits on length or tackle. Plus, there are only limits on the amount of bass, trout, walleye, and pike that you catch and keep. That makes fishing simple and fun for the whole family.
