Full of Hot-Air Fun in Teton Valley: Hot Air Ballooning in Teton Valley
Hot air ballooning in Teton Valley is almost hard to imagine. You sit in the
basket of an enormous colorful balloon that towers nine stories tall. But as
mammoth as the balloon is, it is dictated by the most gentle breezes. It
slowly rises over the tree tops, barely lifting above their branches. Then
next thing you know, you hundreds of feet in the air with only the mountains
rising before you.
Teton Valley ballooning carries you on a flight path in front of the
mountains. That path can give ballooners the best view of the area. You can
actually see over the mountains into Swan Valley on the other side.

Hot Air Ballooning in Teton Valley, Idaho

If the weather is optimal, your pilot may even lift the balloon to the top
of the Grand. From that height, you can see Wyoming and Montana and all the
farms, streams, and ranches for miles around. This unique perspective gives
you bird's eye views of such monuments to nature as the:
- Teton Range
- Teton River
- Bitterroot
- Continental Divide
- Big Hole Mountains
- Snake River Mountain Range
- Teton Valley
- Targhee National Forest
- Swan Valley
Jackson Hole, Wyoming is not just a hot spot for skiing. It's also one of the major
launching pads for hot air balloons. Balloon companies there float above one
of few remaining large working ranches in the region.
That may stimulate your memories of the old dude ranches in the Wild West.
But more importantly for stimulating your senses and your spirit, the
balloon ride will give you breathtaking views of:
- Grand Teton National Park
- Bridger-Teton National Forest
- Snake River
- Jackson Hole Ski and Mountain Resort
- Teton Village
- Jackson Hole
- Yellowstone Plateau
Whichever launch site you choose, you can be rest assured you will bear
witness to some of the most spectacular sights in the world. Seven mountains
ranges lurch up thousands of feet from earth toward heaven. The Teton
Mountain Range, one the closest, stands five thousand feet. The amazing
things about it, though, is not necessarily this elevation. It's that there
are no foothills around the Teton Range. The mountains just seem to erupt
from the ground, as if the earth's geological plates just collided yesterday.
