These are the kinds of mountain that rise 7000 feet straight out of the valley, breathtaking and majestic. They are also inviting, for all sorts of activities. There's room for mountain biking Jackson Hole, but also horseback riding, hiking, rafting, and even balloon rides.

However, we'll save all those fun activities for another day. Today, you want to learn about mountain biking in Jackson Hole, and there's more than enough to learn just for this one subject. First of all, it's crucial to know the major mountain biking trails Jackson Hole has to offer. We'll sort them by the level of difficulty, and whether they are appropriate for a family with children or for only the truly hardcore rider.

Monument Ridge Tour is one such truly adventurous ride. For the advanced mountain biker, this adventure takes you through two-track and single-track trails. Spread Creek Tour is a bit more laid-back of a course. Perfect for the generally in-shape person who wants to get a workout and see the sights, it involves 10 miles over the span of three to five hours.

Snake River Tour takes a bit longer (up to six hours total) because it spans 15 miles of dirt and gravel roads, along with some climbs on single-track trails.

Flagstaff Tour, along with Horseshoe Creek Tour, will involve most of your day (a good seven hours total). This course takes you across 18 miles of sometimes challenging terrain, but at the same time, expect to enjoy spotting bird of prey, moose, elk, and other "locals".

Antelope Flats Tour is a truly scenic tour, however, that is suitable for a family of riders. Its eight miles will take you over the course of two to four hours through relaxing dirt and paved roads. Your kids will feel like they're on an adventure, while you'll feel safe enough.
