Beer Goggles are Optional: The Nightlife in Jackson Hole
Let's be honest. Jackson Hole nightlife keeps the tourists and ski-bum crowd coming
back year after year, just as much as the snow and the slopes. Revelers the world
over get wind of the Jackson Hole nightlife, and make the pilgrimage to Wyoming a
must-do in their lives. For the locals, though, it's just another great thing about
their home, like the mountains cresting overtop and the big sky stretching from
horizon to horizon.
Not to say that the residents of Jackson Hole take their nightlife for granted. It
might just be that they spread their partying across 365 days, and so they don't go
at it like tourists with only three days left to live in Jackson Hole. Or it could be
that Jackson Hole natives are just so used to having fun that they don't need to make
a big deal about it.
Either way, whether you're looking to live in the area, or just passing through, be
sure to taste the Jackson Hole nightlife for yourself at these hot spots:
The Mangy Moose makes the list for dining and concert-going in Jackson Hole, but
its preeminent spot should be atop the nightlife list. It has the reputation as one
of the wildest bars in all of the skiing world, and that reputation is well earned.
There's something here to please everybody, from those looking to relive college,
to those looking to take a step on the dance floor, to those wishing to jam out to
a great live music act.
The Peak in the Four Seasons is one of the best spots to unwind after a day on the
slopes. Despite what hotel it is in, the bar offers reasonable drink and food
specials and all the sports you can watch on its TVs. If broadcasted sights aren't
what you're into, venture out onto the deck facing the slope for some real-life
viewing pleasure.
The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is for the cowboy and cowgirl in all of us. It has
all the classic touches to go with its honky-tonk theme: saddle bar stools,
country music, and line dancing. Expect a more mature crowd here most of the time.
The Cadillac Grille has earned the reputation from locals as one of the best happy
hour spots in Wyoming. It could be that the special is two-for-one drinks, which
is enough to keep the crowds coming back.
The Log Cabin Saloon is for the immature crowd in Jackson Hole. Along with a bar
called the Rancher, the Log Cabin does all it can to keep the younger slope bums
and bunnies happy with cheap drinks, pool and football tables, and darts.
The Snake River Brewing Company provides a happy go-between. Part beer hall,
part award-winning restaurant, this brewpub has something for everyone. And believe
it or not, its beers can be just as tasty as its entrees.
