The area north of Jackson, Wyoming, may be where the hottest deals and steals are in all the
"Hole". The housing developments up in those parts are older, sure. In fact, they date back
all the way to some of the original frontier folk who settled the area around the turn of the
20th century. But their attraction not only comes from their lower prices. They are also very
close to the downtown section, and they are zoned for mixed use.
Some of the homes in this old neighborhood are being leveled to make way for new development,
both residential and commercial. Many businesses have moved in, especially in some of the
older motels and resort buildings. These they're transforming into offices, new lodging, and
all sorts of small businesses, which means more taxes and more development. The key, as well,
is moving into these new areas, near these businesses, with the hopes that property values
will skyrocket with the new development.
One such growth area is the Bar B Bar ranch. It is a newly zoned housing
development, which fits in nicely with the several others closer to the famed fishing area,
Snake River. Other developments to look into include the Zenith Estate and the Panorama
subdivisions. Both offer three-acre parcels on land with one of the best views of the Grand
Teton mountains available this side of the Mississippi. The same can be said of the Owl Creek
Subdivisions, which are possibly some of the newest properties available north of Jackson.
Still, as we already said, you don't have to go new to find hot properties. Solitude
Subdivisions is a case in point. These are extremely exclusive, older homes, located just north
of the Jackson Hole Airport. Their proximity to the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club is a
benefit not to be ignored.
For yet more selection, in both large tracts of land and older ranch-type homes, check out
Buffalo Valley Subdivisions. Situated about five miles north of the entrances to both the
Grand Teton and Yellowstone National parks, you can truly find solace and privacy out there,
yet only be within 45 minutes of downtown.
